It takes only a few minutes to start a fundraiser on SPONSOR.ME, but we recommend that you have a look at the following steps on how to create and run a successful fundraiser:
We highly recommend that you sit down and spend some time planning your fundraiser before creating it.
Step 1: Ask yourself a few questions
- What do I (or an athlete/team/organization I represent) want to achieve with a fundraiser?
- How much money do I/we need to collect?
- How will the money be spent?
- Where can I share and promote the fundraiser and spread the word?
- Who will I ask to make the first donations and help me spread the word?
- What kind of rewards can I offer to the sponsors who support me/us?
Step 2: Gather your team (Situational)
If you are a part of a team, remember to include your team members (and coaches) in your marketing plan. Having your fellow team members and/or coaches promoting and sharing your fundraiser on social media will increase your chances of raising more money.
Step 3: Inform the ones closest to you early
Send an email with a link to your fundraiser or an actual letter with the QR code to your family and friends and ask them to be ready to donate the day you launch. This way, people visiting your fundraiser's page will see that you already have had a great start and they will be more likely to donate.
